Rob Karp

Founder and CEO

Rob Karp is the Founder and CEO of MilesAhead, a luxury hospitality company he started as a high school sophomore to help family and friends maximize their frequent flyer miles. A graduate of Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, Rob has earned recognition as one of Travel + Leisure’s International Rising Stars in 2017 and was a finalist for Virtuoso’s Rising Star award in 2019.

Rob is passionate about giving back, partnering with Huru to support young girls in Kenya and provide them with educational opportunities. As he and his team travel the globe, they gather insights to offer exceptional service to their discerning clients. His expertise has been featured in outlets like The New York Times, Fortune, and Forbes.

Driven by his dream of creating unforgettable luxury travel experiences, Rob cherishes moments like studying abroad in Florence, biking through Hoi An, going on safari in East Africa, and flying First Class with Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines. He never travels without his camera and an open appetite for new adventures!

Kristl Taylor

Head of Billing and Accounts

As a proud Midwest native, Kristl has long been driven by her passion for travel and cultural exploration. She holds a degree in history from Washburn University, complemented by a Master’s in Instructional Leadership. With 15 years of experience in education, she has dedicated her career to inspiring students and fostering a love for learning. Now, as the Head of Billings and Accounts for MilesAhead, Kristl skillfully combines her expertise in organization with her passion for travel, responsible for overseeing the financial operations related to client billing and account management.

Kristl’s perspective on life was profoundly shaped by a transformative backpacking trip through South America, solidifying her commitment to exploration. She believes immersing yourself in the local scene and building connections with the culture truly enhances the travel experience and creates lasting memories.

Katy Calvert

Chief of Staff

Katy Calvert holds a Master’s in Digital Communication Strategies from Marquette University and applies her expertise in her role as Chief of Staff at MilesAhead. In this position, she leads critical projects and optimizes operations to align with the company’s strategic objectives. Katy oversees day-to-day operations, coordinates cross-functional teams, and ensures the successful execution of high-impact projects.

Prior to her current role, Katy served as Director of Marketing and Communications at Northwestern Mutual. There, she managed internal projects, client communications, developed marketing materials, and organized client appreciation and networking events. Her career spans both the financial services and luxury travel industries, where she is dedicated to driving engagement and enhancing retention through strategic marketing initiatives.

Henry Kamp

Head of Air Sales and Operations

Henry, a native New Yorker with a global perspective, graduated from Boston University’s School of Hospitality Administration. His career includes notable stints at the Taj Palace in Mumbai, one of the world’s premier hotels, and several iconic American museums.

As the Head of Air Sales and Operations, Henry ensures that every client's journey is seamless and enjoyable. While his primary focus is on air travel, he also plays a key role in coordinating all aspects of travel, from securing last-minute rental cars to identifying the perfect hotel.

One of Henry’s favorite travel experiences was taking off in a prop plane from a rural dirt strip in Jamaica. He advises travelers to be brave and embrace the unfamiliar, as stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to memorable and rewarding experiences. Making the most of every opportunity is key when you’re in a new place.

Ike Dayan

Senior Air Coordinator and Executive Travel Lead

Graduating from the University of Maryland, College Park with a degree in Information Science and Data Analytics, Ike brings a detail-oriented approach to his work in travel. With a lifelong passion for aviation and exploration, he spends his free time discovering a range of destinations, from weekend trips to Miami to extended adventures in Canadian ski towns.

As Senior Air Coordinator & Executive Travel Lead, Ike is dedicated to ensuring that every client’s journey is both comfortable and stylish, regardless of how complex their itinerary might be. His expertise lies in finding the best travel solutions and managing all aspects of travel coordination.

One of Ike’s favorite travel experiences was a month-long trip to Israel, where he explored Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, hiked and tasted wine in the North, floated in the Dead Sea, and delved into the region’s rich history and culture. Ike’s travel tip is to be adventurous and embrace opportunities to try new things, as these experiences can be rare and invaluable later in life.

Kawas Aga

Air Coordinator

Kawas, a Boston University alumnus with degrees from both the School of Hospitality Administration and the Questrom School of Business, combines management expertise with a deep understanding of hospitality. His extensive experience in planning trips for friends and family has sharpened his ability to craft memorable travel experiences.

His career spans roles at two top Boston hotels, a women’s empowerment firm, and several strategy consulting positions. Passionate about travel, Kawas has explored many countries, with Greece being a standout favorite. His global adventures and professional background enable him to connect with people and make a lasting impact.

An avid traveler and adventurer, Kawas is no stranger to challenges, from cycling from New York City to Boston to navigating new environments. Fun fact: He is a national swimmer who has represented Pakistan at the World Championships, Asian Games, and Commonwealth Games.

Sarah Harwick

Leisure Relationship Lead

After growing up in New Jersey and traveling extensively, Sarah developed a deep passion for exploration. Her love for travel was solidified during her time at Saint Joseph’s University, where she studied abroad in both Rome and Johannesburg. These experiences provided her with invaluable cultural immersion and fresh perspectives, highlighting the importance of connecting with people from diverse backgrounds.

In her role as Leisure Relationship Lead, Sarah excels at bringing exceptional travel experiences to life. She oversees the travel planning team, ensuring top-notch research and effective communication with suppliers to create memorable journeys for clients.

One of Sarah’s standout travel experiences was traveling in South Africa, which greatly influenced her passion for travel. A fun fact about Sarah is that she has traveled to 39 states and has driven across the country three times!

Andrea Barclay

Leisure Relationship Lead

Andrea, a graduate of the Boston University School of Hospitality, brings a refined and cultured perspective to the MilesAhead team. Her extensive experience in global luxury events and catering enhances her ability to create exceptional travel experiences. As Lead Leisure Coordinator, Andrea is instrumental in meticulously crafting each itinerary, working closely with clients to turn their travel dreams into extraordinary realities.

For Andrea, travel is a means of learning and self-care rather than just an escape. She finds deep satisfaction in creating unforgettable experiences, building meaningful relationships, and immersing herself in diverse cultures. Her approach to travel is driven by a passion for exploration and cultural engagement.

One of Andrea’s standout travel experiences was living in London and visiting friends in their hometowns around the world. Now based in her hometown of Lima, Peru, Andrea enjoys the opportunity to travel frequently, staying connected to her roots while continuing her global explorations.

Her career includes roles in marketing and digital strategy, where she has excelled in content creation, high-profile event organization, and process optimization.

With travel experiences spanning over 15 countries, Jackie understands the profound impact of immersive and shared adventures. She believes that the most memorable travel moments are those enjoyed with others and is dedicated to creating travel solutions that not only meet but exceed her clients' expectations, ensuring each journey is both unique and unforgettable.
